I bought the Cantonape 1000W car inverter to power my electronics on the road. Admittedly, after reading some negative reviews, I was a little nervous. But then I realized that a lot of the problems seemed to be related to how people were wiring the inverter.

Here’s the thing: For this inverter to work properly, you really need to use high-quality wiring. Some reviews mentioned people having issues with standard car lighter plugs not being able to handle the power. Instead, I went with a good quality audio amplifier wiring kit. This kit uses thicker wires that can handle more current, and that solved all my problems. I also grounded the inverter twice for extra stability, and used a longer (8-foot) power cable. With this setup, the Cantonape inverter has been working great! So, if you’re thinking about getting one, just make sure you use the right wiring and you should be good to go. Read more…
