I was so excited to get my hands on the Topbull 3000 watt inverter. Six months in, and I’m feeling a little bummed. Let’s start with the good stuff – it’s built tough and surprisingly light for its power. Perfect for tossing in the RV or taking along on camping trips. I was dreaming of powering up my whole workshop with this thing, especially all the beautiful lamps I design with Edison bulbs.
Here’s where things went south. For some reason, this inverter just doesn’t play well with certain power strips. I had to hunt around forever to find ones that worked without tripping some kind of safety switch. Even bigger letdown – the Edison bulbs in my lamps barely flicker on! They’re super dim, which defeats the whole purpose of using those cool bulbs in the first place. So, while the inverter itself seems well-made, it’s turned out to be a bit of a headache to use. If you’re looking for something to power basic appliances, it might be okay, but for anything more specific, I’d keep looking. Read more…
